Research collaborations

I’m interested in collaborative research on mating and relationships, sex differences, psychological wellbeing, sexual conflict, and responses to scientific findings. I examine variation between people and cultures and how evolved psychology operates in modern environments.

I welcome ideas for collaborative studies, cross-cultural projects, analyses of existing datasets, and joint funding proposals that connect with these interests. See Research and Publications for more.

I run the Centre for Evolutionary Perspectives on Intersexual Conflict (the EPIC centre) at Swansea University. Visit the EPIC website to meet the team and explore our current projects.

To discuss a collaboration, please outline the research question, the population or dataset involved, and how you would like us to work together.

Postgraduate supervision

I welcome enquiries from prospective postgraduate researchers who have funding in place or have identified a funding route. Projects should connect with my research interests, including mating and relationships, sex differences, singlehood and wellbeing, sexual conflict, or responses to scientific findings.

Please send a brief outline of your research idea, relevant academic background, intended degree and start date, and the funding source or route you have identified. This will help us discuss whether the project is a good fit.

Research briefings for government and policy audiences

I offer briefings for government and policy audiences, explaining research findings and their relevance to the questions an organisation is considering. Topics can include mating and relationships, sex differences, sexual harassment, unwanted singlehood, and wellbeing.

When you get in touch, please describe your organisation, the audience, the question you would like to explore, the format and your preferred timing.

Research-based professional training

I provide research-based training for healthcare and mental health professionals. Previous sessions for government and mental health professionals, including NHS staff, have covered unwanted singlehood, incel communities, and sexual harassment.

For example, I have introduced mental health professionals to research on incel communities, covering misconceptions, risks of harm to themselves and others, and considerations for engagement with services.

When you get in touch, please describe your organisation, the audience, the topic, the format and your preferred timing.

For clinical case consultation, psychotherapy supervision and training focused on therapeutic practice, please visit my therapy practice. For therapy enquiries, visit my private practice website.
